Welcome to my Website and First Blog!

Updated: Jul 24, 2018

Hello and welcome to my new website. Just to introduce myself and give you a bit of background, I am a paediatric neurosurgeon and fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons currently primarily practicing at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead – part of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network.

I also consult on private adult patients at Liverpool. These rooms I share with my good friend and skilled colleague Dr Renate Abraszko. I have been appointed as Staff Specialist at The Children’s Hospital for the past four years.

I grew up in Sydney and have lived in Singapore and the United Kingdom. I attended Sydney Church of England Grammar School and attended the University of New South Wales graduating with the University Medal in Medicine and Surgery as well as being awarded nine undergraduate prizes.

I have a passion for neurosurgical patients and completed my training in 2013 after completing a Doctor of Philosophy in molecular genetics at the Kolling Institute of Medical Research in Sydney.

I spent six years as a Medical Officer the Royal Australian Navy and have seen service in the Arabian Gulf and on numerous domestic peace-monitoring missions. Resigning my commission in 2003, I have been awarded ASM, AASM, ICAT and Defence Service medals. I received a Commendation for Service during the Arabian Gulf missions.

I am a father to a young child myself and understand the fear and anxiety as a parent of having a sick child.

My main clinical focus is on Spina Bifida and Craniofacial Surgery however I am also a national provider for Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy in Cerebral Palsy. My adult interest is in non-instrumented degenerative spinal conditions.

I look forward to the privilege of looking after you or your child and will update this blog frequently with areas of interest.
